Text Box: Petition Supporters and Comments from MINNESOTA Bonnie Jean Smith I have a friend whose father is being held against his will by a woman who claims to be his wife. My friend has records showing this woman never married her father and her son who is now in prison in TN for robbery and assault attack my friends dad gave him a TBI and has never left their home since. The only thing keeping him alive is her persistence in contacting him once a week letting this woman know she is being watched. Mean while she has drained all of his savings and retirement monies going on elaborate cruises with her daughter. This woman's last two husbands died mysteriously and last year her daughters husband died mysteriously also. Elderr abuse is me on the rise by African governments who do not have plans at all. I say this because for along time , way back to 1996 I was running an organization that was working with and for Older Persons, but, the government did not pay attention at all. I have published over 100 works on gerotology and was the one that pushed for the Older Persons day 1 st October to be taking place. You can see the abuse, the government till now has done nothuing. All the do is give out packs of hand outs to a few Older Persopns , Older Persons do not hand outs they need 'Edlder law", we must start thinking of that one day. It has been too long.
